Robot Programming Group

Group Head: Prof. Cezary Zieliński, Ph.D., D.Sc..

The Group's research focuses on various aspects of programming and control of robotic systems. A robotic system consists of at least one robot and possibly cooperating devices. A methodological model of a robotic system has been created using the concept of a structured agent consisting of subsystems whose operation is described by means of transition and finite automation functions or Petri network. On the basis of this metamodel, specific models are created which are the specification of the designed systems. The developed approach was used to create both industrial and service robots. Single- and multi-robot systems were created. The research included navigation of mobile robots, positional and impedance control of manipulators, perception, in particular image processing, object capture and issues related to the safety of robot operation. Currently, research is being conducted on the adaptation of the metamodel to different ontological levels used in formulating tasks for the system.
