Presentation of selected projects

Brief presentation of projects in which faculty members and Ph.D. students of the Institute of Control and Computation Engineering took part in recent years.

Algorithms for controlling fire ventilation

As a result of the project, a microprocessor controller was designed and built, in which a developed algorithm for controlling the smoke extraction system of escape routes in tall buildings is implemented.

AMBER

Project related to the development and use of biometric techniques using mobile devices.

APAKT

The main objective of the project is to increase the security of Polish cyberspace by increasing the availability of hardware and software solutions, which include conducting industrial research and development and preparatory work for implementation.

BIOWIZ

The main objective of the project is to create a BIOWIZ computer system for biometric identification of the face and/or the entire human figure, which will be used by the Police in the detection and evidence process.

CREDO

The aim of the CREDO project was to develop and launch a demo version of the digital repository, enabling short- and long-term archiving of large volumes of digital resources.

ECONET

The aim of the project was to develop and test prototype hardware and software solutions enabling implementation of the concept of energy-efficient wired network architecture.

Energy-efficient computer system

The result of the research carried out under the project is a computer system including energy-saving algorithms for task scheduling, resource allocation and server work controllers in the Linux kernel.

EqDb

The aim of the EqDb project is to create an information system to support the construction and operation of complex scientific equipment, in particular high energy physics research equipment. Currently, the system is being adapted to the needs of the MPD detector on the constructed NICA bumper at the United Nuclear Research Institute in Dubna.

Construction of stable financial investment portfolios

The aim of the project was to develop and study a new approach to the construction of financial investment portfolios ensuring stability of their composition for the assumed set of financial assets.

LaVa

The main objective of the project is to build a vulnerability analysis laboratory equipped with: experimental laboratory station for testing vulnerabilities, devices and software; vulnerability scanning in IT systems using innovative methods developed during the project; tools for static analysis of applications and behavioral analysis

Multisensor robot systems for service tasks

In the course of the project, a number of algorithms have been developed to control the manipulators and grippers of the service robot, as well as ways of using information from proprio and extero-receptive sensors.

RAPP

The project concerns the use of robots to support socially excluded people, both due to physical disabilities and lack of technical competence. The task of the robot-companion is to work with its owner to enable him/her to function normally in society.

Heat pump controller

The aim of the project was to develop a microprocessor controller for airborne heat pumps to maximise their efficiency.

SwarmItFIX

The project aimed at creating a system of flexible, reconfigurable robots for clamping large workpieces in the production process.

Decision support system

A modern IT system was developed to support a number of processes in logistics companies and transport departments of manufacturing and distribution companies. The system allows for significant improvements in the work of fleet dispatchers and allows for the implementation of savings by planning transport work.

yieldPlanet

The aim of the project is to develop a prototype of an innovative IT solution for dynamic forecasting of hotel room prices and management of hotel revenues in Poland and worldwide.
